Jannat Zubair Rahmani took on one of the most dramatic roles of her career in 2026 with Netflix’s Glory, a Hindi mystery-sports thriller set in the world of competitive boxing.
Jannat plays Gudiya Singh, the younger sister at the centre of the show’s family conflict. Her character’s assault becomes one of the events that brings her estranged brothers Dev and Ravi back to their hometown of Shaktigarh.
Netflix describes Glory as a story involving revenge, ambition, family conflict and a murder mystery set against Indian boxing.
Who Is Gudiya Singh in Glory?
Gudiya Singh is the daughter of legendary boxing coach Raghubir Singh, played by Suvinder Vicky.
She is also the sister of:
- Dev, played by Divyenndu
- Ravi, played by Pulkit Samrat
Gudiya’s character provides the emotional connection that brings the estranged brothers back together.
What Happens to Gudiya Singh?
One of the central events in Glory is the brutal assault on Gudiya.
Her brothers return to Shaktigarh after the attack and begin searching for answers.
What initially appears to be a family tragedy gradually becomes connected to the wider mystery surrounding the boxing world.
The attack therefore functions as a major catalyst for the show’s narrative.
Why Is Gudiya Important to Glory?
Gudiya is not simply a supporting character.
Her storyline is the trigger for Dev and Ravi’s return.
Her assault forces the brothers to confront their complicated relationship with their father and the world of boxing that they had previously left behind.
Netflix’s official description identifies the assault on Gudiya as one of the central events connecting the family drama with the murder mystery surrounding rising boxer Nihal Singh.
Jannat Zubair’s Role in Glory
For Jannat, Gudiya represents a departure from the lighter entertainment formats that have been prominent in her recent career.
Before Glory, audiences had seen her in projects such as:
- Khatron Ke Khiladi 12
- Kulche Chole
- Laughter Chefs
- The Traitors India
Gudiya gave her an opportunity to appear in a darker scripted thriller involving crime, family trauma and revenge.
Gudiya and Her Brothers
Gudiya’s relationship with Dev and Ravi is essential to understanding the series.
The two brothers have been separated from their family for years.
Gudiya’s attack becomes the reason they return.
Their attempt to protect her ultimately leads them deeper into the secrets surrounding their father and the boxing establishment in Shaktigarh.
Gudiya and Raghubir Singh
Gudiya is also connected to Raghubir Singh, the demanding boxing coach whose obsession with producing an Olympic champion shapes the family.
The father-daughter relationship exists within a family already damaged by ambition, expectations and unresolved conflict.
This gives Gudiya’s storyline another layer beyond the crime mystery.
Jannat Zubair’s Performance
Reviews of Glory have focused more heavily on the series’ central boxing and family storylines than on individual supporting performances.
Cinema Express noted that Gudiya’s relationship with her brothers is important to the narrative, while also arguing that the series does not always give the relationship enough emotional development.
The Indian Express similarly described the show as a pulpy boxing drama built around Gudiya’s assault and the brothers’ return.
Why Glory Is Important for Jannat Zubair
Glory represents a significant expansion of Jannat’s acting portfolio.
Her career has moved across several entertainment categories, but Netflix’s thriller format places her within a more mature scripted environment.
It also gives her screen association with actors including Divyenndu, Pulkit Samrat, Suvinder Vicky, Ashutosh Rana and Sayani Gupta.
Is Gudiya the Main Character?
Gudiya is a crucial character but Glory is an ensemble series.
The primary narrative follows Dev and Ravi as they return to Shaktigarh, investigate the circumstances surrounding Gudiya’s assault and become involved in the mysterious death of boxer Nihal Singh.
Gudiya is therefore central to the story’s motivation without being the sole protagonist.
