Jannat Zubair’s participation in The Traitors India became one of the most interesting chapters of her reality-television career in 2025.
The Prime Video reality show was fundamentally different from the stunt-based Khatron Ke Khiladi. Instead of physical challenges, contestants had to identify hidden Traitors while protecting themselves from elimination.
Jannat entered the game as an Innocent and eventually became a target of the Traitors.
Jannat Zubair Enters The Traitors India
Jannat was part of the inaugural Indian edition of The Traitors, hosted by Karan Johar.
The show brought together a large group of celebrities and digital personalities and placed them in a high-pressure social-strategy environment.
Jannat entered as one of the Innocents.
What Was Jannat Zubair’s Role?
Jannat’s objective was to survive while identifying the secret Traitors.
The Innocents had to work collectively during Round Tables, discuss suspicious behaviour and vote to eliminate people they believed were Traitors.
At the same time, the Traitors could secretly “murder” contestants.
This created an environment where even friendships could become liabilities.
Jannat Zubair’s Relationships in the Game
As the season progressed, contestants developed alliances and friendships.
Jannat’s emotional reaction to the departure of fellow contestants demonstrated that she formed genuine connections within the game.
The Indian Express reported on Jannat’s emotional response after Karan Kundrra’s elimination.
Jannat Starts Suspecting Harsh Gujral
One of the most important developments in Jannat’s journey came when she began suspecting Harsh Gujral.
Her suspicions became particularly significant because Harsh was later revealed to have become a Traitor.
Jannat’s post-show comments suggested that she believed she was getting close to identifying him.
Why Jannat Became a Threat
Once a contestant starts getting close to identifying a Traitor, their position in the game becomes increasingly dangerous.
Jannat’s suspicions therefore placed her in a vulnerable position.
Instead of reaching the Round Table with her suspicions, she ultimately became a target.
Jannat Zubair Is Eliminated
Jannat was eventually murdered by the Traitors.
Her elimination ended her run in the competition and became one of the notable exits of the season.
Times of India later reported on Jannat’s thoughts about the elimination and the role Harsh played in her exit.
Jannat’s Biggest Regret
After leaving the show, Jannat discussed what she wished she had done differently.
Her biggest regret was connected to Harsh Gujral.
She had developed suspicions about him but did not manage to expose him before becoming a target herself.
This gave her elimination an additional strategic dimension: she had identified a genuine threat but did not get enough time to act on her suspicion.
“Sometimes Loyalty Costs You”
Following her exit, Jannat shared a social-media message reflecting on the experience.
The phrase “Sometimes loyalty costs you” became associated with her reaction to leaving the show.
The sentiment captured one of the central themes of The Traitors: emotional relationships can make strategic decisions more difficult.
How The Traitors Changed Jannat’s Reality-TV Image
Jannat had already participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi 12.
That show established her as someone willing to face physical challenges.
The Traitors showed another side of her personality.
The format required:
- Strategic thinking
- Reading people
- Detecting deception
- Building alliances
- Managing emotions
- Making difficult voting decisions
Her participation therefore broadened her reality-TV profile.
Jannat Zubair vs The Traitors Format
The central conflict of the show can be summarised simply:
Innocents: Find the Traitors.
Traitors: Eliminate the Innocents.
Jannat: Started as an Innocent and ultimately became one of the Traitors’ targets.
This simple structure created a complex psychological competition.
What Jannat Learned From The Traitors
Jannat’s post-show comments indicate that the experience gave her a different perspective on trust and loyalty.
The show demonstrated that identifying the correct person is not enough; contestants must also persuade everyone else before they themselves become targets.
That strategic difficulty made Jannat’s suspicions about Harsh particularly interesting in retrospect.
Jannat Zubair’s Reality-Show Career
Jannat’s reality-TV journey now spans very different formats.
Khatron Ke Khiladi 12
Physical stunts and fear-based challenges.
Laughter Chefs
Cooking, comedy and celebrity partnerships.
The Traitors India
Psychological strategy, alliances and deception.
This variety has helped make reality television an important part of Jannat’s post-child-actor career.
