Jannat Zubair Rahmani entered a very different kind of reality competition in 2025 when she became one of the contestants on The Traitors India.
Hosted by Karan Johar, the Prime Video reality series brought together celebrities and public figures in a psychological game based on trust, deception and strategy.
Unlike Khatron Ke Khiladi, where physical courage was central, The Traitors required contestants to read other players, form alliances and identify hidden Traitors.
Jannat Zubair Joins The Traitors India
Jannat was announced as one of the contestants of the first Indian edition of The Traitors.
The confirmed contestant lineup included Jannat alongside personalities such as Karan Kundrra, Apoorva Mukhija and others. The show was released on Prime Video beginning June 12, 2025.
Jannat entered the game as an Innocent, meaning her objective was to identify and eliminate the hidden Traitors while avoiding being “murdered” by them.
What Is The Traitors India?
The Traitors is a social-strategy reality format built around two groups.
The Traitors secretly work to eliminate the Innocents, while the Innocents attempt to identify the Traitors during discussions and eliminations.
The format relies heavily on:
- Trust
- Deception
- Alliances
- Observation
- Psychological strategy
- Bluffing
- Group voting
This made the show very different from Jannat’s earlier reality-show experience on Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Jannat Zubair as an Innocent
Jannat played the role of an Innocent from the beginning of the competition.
Her challenge was therefore not to win physical stunts but to understand the behaviour of the other contestants and work out who was secretly operating as a Traitor.
The format put her social-reading and strategic skills under constant pressure.
Jannat Zubair’s Emotional Moments
The elimination of several contestants created an increasingly tense atmosphere inside the palace.
When Karan Kundrra was eliminated, Jannat was visibly emotional, illustrating how quickly relationships formed among contestants despite the competitive nature of the game. The Indian Express reported on her emotional reaction during the show’s early episodes.
How Jannat Zubair Was Eliminated
Jannat eventually became a victim of the Traitors’ strategy.
She was murdered by the Traitors, ending her journey in the competition. Times of India reported that her elimination came after Harsh Gujral’s recruitment as a Traitor, with Harsh and Purav Jha involved in the move against her.
Her exit was particularly significant because she had begun suspecting Harsh.
Jannat’s Biggest Regret After Elimination
Following her eviction, Jannat revealed that one of her biggest regrets was not exposing Harsh Gujral as a Traitor before her own elimination.
According to Times of India, Jannat had suspected Harsh and wanted to reveal his role, but he managed to eliminate her before she could do so.
This became one of the most interesting aspects of her post-show analysis.
Jannat Zubair’s “Sometimes Loyalty Costs You” Post
After leaving the show, Jannat shared a reflective social-media message following her elimination.
Times of India reported that she posted the phrase “Sometimes loyalty costs you” after her exit.
The message reflected the emotional nature of her experience and the difficult choices involved in a game where personal relationships could directly affect survival.
Why The Traitors Was Different for Jannat
Jannat had already experienced a stunt-based reality show with Khatron Ke Khiladi 12.
The Traitors required a completely different skill set.
On Khatron Ke Khiladi, contestants had to overcome physical fear.
On The Traitors, Jannat had to deal with:
- Hidden identities
- Strategic voting
- Alliances
- Suspicion
- Psychological pressure
- Betrayal
Her participation therefore expanded her reality-TV profile beyond physical competition.
Jannat Zubair’s The Traitors Journey
Her journey can be broadly divided into four stages:
1. Entering as an Innocent
Jannat began the game as an Innocent and had to identify the hidden Traitors.
2. Building Relationships
As the competition progressed, contestants developed alliances and friendships, making the game increasingly complicated.
3. Suspecting Harsh Gujral
Jannat eventually became suspicious of Harsh’s role in the game.
4. Becoming a Target
Before she could fully expose her suspicions, Jannat was eliminated by the Traitors.
The Traitors India and Jannat Zubair’s Career
The show became another significant reality-TV chapter for Jannat.
Her reality-show career had already included Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 and Laughter Chefs.
With The Traitors, she entered a strategic reality format that tested a completely different side of her personality.
